Prototyping and 3D Printing

The BIEFFE PROJECT 3D LAB deals with 3D printing and prototyping. Our 3D printer production Lab is located in Modena and is at the forefront of 3D printing and modelling techniques. It has the most advanced technologies, the most innovative materials and, thanks to large-format 3D printers, the most advanced addictive manufacturing tools and, above all, our team’s great expertise in this field, it offers a wide range of solutions for prototyping and component production.

With FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) 3D printing, we can produce parts in the final plastic material. We use high-quality materials such as ABS Carbon, ASA, ULTEM, and NYLON, which exhibit exceptional mechanical properties. These materials are ideal for prototyping and small series production.

Thanks to POLYJET 3D printing, we can create models using different materials, perfect for producing design prototypes. This technology enables us to achieve high precision and finish, meeting our clients’ aesthetic requirements.

The Formlabs 3b+ SLA 3D printer allows us to produce parts with complex geometries and better surface finishes compared to other additive processes. Moreover, it enables the printing of components with biocompatible resins optimised for biomedical applications.

In addition to 3D printing, the BIEFFE PROJECT 3D LAB also features a 3-axis CNC machining centre for mechanical processing, prototyping, and the creation of jigs and fixtures. We use high-quality metallic and plastic materials, as well as polyurethane boards for maquettes and PMMA.

To further streamline our design process, we use professional 3D structured light scanners to digitise physical models and convert them into 3D CAD models through Reverse Engineering. This technology allows us to replicate objects or customise them through rapid manufacturing.
